blah

well hello mr. blog. it's been a while, and i guess it's kind of sad to say that the only reason i'm turning to you right now is to avoid some schoolwork. we are working on writing portfolios right now. they are kind of important...actually very important, and they are due this friday. idk about it tho...i just don't want to do it. we'll see what happens.

so i was just now checking my gmail, and i got curious and clicked on the google reader link at the top of my page. it opened up a bunch of feeds i was reading last year about this time, and i remembered how all of my friends tried to start blogging, and they all quit :(
that's a lot of lonely blogs.

it's also been about 3 weeks since i've been back from Anaheim to the NRECA annual meeting. it seems like an eternity ago to me. i've always thought it was strange how time can feel different in different circumstances. if i think about my birthday, which was in january, it doesn't seem that long ago, but if i think about ylc, which was 3 weeks ago, it seems like it's been forever.

i will be graduating high school at the end of may. that is going to be exciting. i can't wait....i'm also a little apprehensive though. i don't know what it will feel like to start school at a completely new place. for my whole life, every time i go to a new school it's just been across town or in a different neighborhood, but the prospect of going to school in a completely different state, and going there on my own, is daunting to say the least.

um i think this is done

bow tie blues

senior dinner dance is this weekend... everyone at dunbar is really pumped (seniors at least). i'm planning on wearing a bow tie, i just don't know how to tie it.

any ideas?

i ate at moe's today. joey combo w/red onion, fresh jalapeno peppers, pico, cilantro, cheese, a little lettuce + queso.
oh...heavenly goodness

pancakes galore

it rained hard today. very hard. and it seems to rain hardest whenever i am walking out of a building to my car, or from my car to wherever i'm going. and it seems like my car is always in the very back corner of the parking lot. it was a soggy day.

tonight i enjoyed the freedom and luxury of being a senior (with wade, cory, kim, brooke, brad, casey, and nossy)...at ihop. they are having $5.99 endless pancake days, and this offer was one i simply could not pass up. 2 eggs...sunny side up, hash browns, bacon, and all the pancakes you can eat....thats a good deal. nossokoff said he was going to eat 15 pancakes, but despite his valor and determination, he could only make it to 8.

i could only stomach 5...but then again i wasn't the one who said i could eat 15.
also brooke yelled "pussy products" and "messy pads" and i think the whole restaurant heard it.
go team.

what just happened.

well hello again...whether you are a loyal reader, or a not so loyal reader i have kept you out of the loop for a very, very long time. almost 3 months to be exact...sorry about that.

let me give you a quick run down on what's been going on with me since i made my last post (and let's do it in a new font because i'm tired of this one)

times new roman... classy but normal.

well then...to give you the short side of things, i have been very busy and slightly stressed trying to apply for college and figure out where I want to go to school. i'm blessed with good test scores/grades, but i'm also finding that to be somewhat of a curse. i don't have to worry about whether or not i will get into college, but i also have no idea at all where i will end up...and i'm going to have to make that decision here in about 4 months. i've been working on some scholarship applications, (actually what inspired me to come back to my blog was an essay for a scholarship application that i'm working on procrastinating).

in december track started again at dunbar. this is my senior year, and i have spent a lot of time trying to get motivated for another season. it seems like this season just sneaked up on me from nowhere and i don't feel ready for it. (actually i feel ready, but i just don't want to go through with it).

i guess december was when senioritis reached a critical stage for me. somewhere between lethargy towards school, indifference about church, and pandora, i just checked out. i'm ready to graduate and start a new chapter of life. this old one suddenly seems below me. (that's probably a bad attitude to have).

in january, i turned 18. i played scratch offs for the first time (and i won!!!) i figured after i won $2 on a $1 scratch off, i would be best to count my winnings and stop. the lottery is overrated. i see people throw away their lives every time they play, and then i see the people who win lose their lives. boo lottery. but hey, after 18 years of being told i had to wait to buy a lottery ticket, i had to play right away.

also on monday (which was actually one day before i turned 18) i got to go skiing for the first time. lets just say i had a couple conversations with the snow. you know me...i have a little bit of an ego, so of course i didn't go to ski school...i just went straight up the mountain and skied down. i was REALLY good at skiing, but REALLY bad at stopping....

today was the first track meet of our season (boo...who wants to run track in january) anyways i was pumped for running the 60 m hurdles and the 200 m, but part of my birthday gift was tickets to today's uk/usc game. so i ran the 60 m hurdles, and we rushed from the nutter field house down to rupp for the game.
and what a game it was...for anyone who has been lucky enough to be in rupp arena when the crowd truly just explodes, you know what i'm talking about....yeah it's amazing.

anyways....watch this video, and i guess that will give you a pretty good summary of what's been going on with me since november. i'll try to keep you up to date a little more this time.

November Blues

Did anyone else enjoy the extra hour of sleep this morning as much as I did? I got up to go to church at 8:00, only to find out it was really 7:00. That extra hour in bed was really welcomed by me.

I haven't been blogging much lately b/c my community service class at school requires me to keep a journal. I guess when I write all my thoughts down on paper, i just don't have quite the same motivation to blog here, or over on the YLC blog.

But how about Dumbledore being gay? Sure i'm slow on the getting the news out, but hey, this isn't the leaky cauldron so what do you expect. I don't really mind that much that Dumbledore is gay, Snape off's him in book 6 anyways. It does provide a different perspective looking back now, because Dumbledore always served as the father figure that Harry never had; that's part of the reason it was so sad when he passed. I never like it when the author tries to impose their views on the reader, but hey, the beauty of fiction is that we can just change the story in our heads if we don't like it. not a bad deal huh?

yes...everyone wins.
Except the SEC east. despite the strength of the teams, the format of the BCS makes the SEC this year's loser. Kind of hard to believe that only one team from the conference has a shot at the BCS national championship when you consider that 9 of 12 teams in the league already have bowl eligibility with three games to go for most teams, but such is NCAA football.
Look for the winner in the east to have three conference losses. Things really get interesting if south carolina can pull off an upset over florida.

and navy breaks the streak against Notre Dame?
but the irish fans still love charlie...don't ask me why.

no love in nebraska where the huskers gave up a record number of points to kansas.

And yes...it's already november. time sure flies when you're having fun, or when you're being driven like a slave through high school.
we can have some fun talking about logan's future college tomorrow, but right now i gots to hit the hay b/c we ain't gettin an extra hour tomorrow.

btw...in case you didn't hear... THIS WEEK IS THE BEGINNING OF BASKETBALL BABY
go cats...
i know you feel the big blue love too.
